Man dies at Arches National Park

MOAB, Utah — A 56-year-old man died at Arches National Park on Sunday, March 12.

According to a statement from the National Parks Service, Classic Air Medical, and the Grand County Sheriff’s Department and EMS responded to a report of CPR in progress on the Devils Garden Trail in Arches National Park on Sunday afternoon.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the patient was pronounced dead on the scene.

Information regarding the man’s identity or cause of death is not available at this time.

The full Devil’s Garden Trail is nearly 8 miles in length, and is strenuous in difficulty. According to the National Park Service, the hike involves narrow ledges, steep exposures, uneven surfaces, rock scrambling, and few trail markers.
