Backcountry Bow Wow fundraiser supports search and rescue dogs…and humans too
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association is asking for help from its community in raising funds, prizes, and auction items for the eighth Backcountry Bow Wow. The fundraiser is on Friday, March 31, at The Cabin and directly supports Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The fundraiser includes live music from Aspen Anonda and the Pickpockets, a silent auction, and raffle prizes.
Tickets can be purchased and donations can be made online.
WBR is essential in providing avalanche rescue, mountain rescue, and medical care to locals and visitors with highly trained professionals and search and rescue dogs.
“Every year, more work is needed to train avalanche dog teams, educate the public, and provide safer and faster response times,” said the Backcountry Bow Wow Committee. “Sadly, since 2019, 12 people have been killed in avalanches in Utah. Many of these accidents occur in the Wasatch Range and directly impact members of our community. With the bountiful amounts of snow received this year, WBR needs our help now more than ever.”
Last year, Backcountry Bow Wow raised over $19,000. It’s goal this year is to raise $20,000.
The Backcountry Bow Wow Committee is asking for assistance to help reach its fundraising goal through silent auction items and raffle prizes.
“Please consider donating new or used product(s), goods, services, discount codes, or gift cards to our event to benefit WBR, avalanche dogs, and our community. WBR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donations are tax-deductible. We are looking for a range of items from t-shirts and accessories to higher-end items like outerwear and hardware to include in our raffles and silent auction.”
Backcountry Bow Wow is offering a tiered sponsorship opportunity that will be displayed at the event.
