Park City preschool registration lottery now open
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City preschool registration lottery is now open for the 2023-2024 school year. In the future, more spots will be available to applicants than ever before.
The lottery will be open until 4 p.m. on February 24, and parents will be notified via email of their student’s status by March 7. You must be a Park City resident to apply.
“Thanks to $100,000+ in Park City Education Foundation funding each year, made possible with support from critical partners like Park City Mountain and Vail Resorts EpicPromise, PCSD is able to provide affordable, high-quality preschool for up to 190 three- and four-year-olds,” Abby McNulty, President and CEO of PCEF said in a press release. “We have always made Preschool a major priority; in fact, the program started in 2010 with seed funding from PCEF donors.”
Because of the passage of the school projects bond in 2021, available preschool seats for children ages three and four will go from 190 to 600 in two years after construction projects at local elementary schools are complete.
“When PCSD’s expanded Preschool comes online, its ability to address an entire school year of childcare will have a profound impact on our community,” McNulty said. “Short-term, Preschool provides an affordable, consistent, safe, nurturing, academically enriching environment. This will allow parents the opportunity to work while all of the community’s 4-year-olds, and many 3-year-olds, are in good hands. Not only that, it will better prepare these children for kindergarten – and beyond.”
