Gov. Cox outlines new priorities for third year in office
UTAH — Governor Spencer Cox announced his priorities for his third year in office today, centered around people, growth, and government.
This set of priorities, dubbed “Utah Home,” is intended to preserve Utah as a wonderful place to live, work, and recreate.
“These new priorities stem from the administration’s commitment to building a sustainable future for current and future generations of Utahns, giving equal opportunities for all,” said a press release from Cox’s office. “These priorities address our state’s challenges with growth, with an emphasis on enabling a future with our children and grandchildren nearby. These priorities are also aimed at driving the best investments and use of state resources and improving how our state government serves Utahns.”
According to Cox, Utah Home will address the following:
- People — education and learning, concerns on social media for minors, physical, mental, and behavioral health; expanding opportunities, preventing domestic violence and sexual assault, support for victims of interpersonal violence, and support for vulnerable families.
- Growth — water, housing, homelessness, connecting Utah through trails, energy, and the economic future of rural Utah.
- Good Government — customer service, employee retention, and wise use of Utah’s resources.
“We all have a part to play in improving upon what makes Utah great and resolving pressing challenges,” said a press release from Cox’s office. “As you explore Utah Home, I invite you to consider what you can do to support these priorities and ensure a prosperous future for our state.”
