Update: Four-car fatal crash in Heber City
HEBER CITY, Utah — A medical helicopter arrived to aid in a four-vehicle crash on US-40, mile marker 13 in Heber City. The crash affected both directions of traffic. Utah DOT said the incident may not be cleared until 3 p.m.
Emergency services have not released names or conditions of those involved in the crash. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash left one dead.
According to the UHP, “at approximately 10:55 am, a white Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on US-40 at the intersection of SR-32/River Road (SR 40 milepost 13). The traffic light was red. According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the Ford F150 appeared to have lost consciousness before traveling head-on into a stopped Dodge Ram pickup waiting at the red light in the westbound travel lanes…The 68-year-old male driver of the Ford F150 was pronounced deceased shortly after the collision. A medical episode is being investigated as a possible contributor to the crash.”
A serious crash on Highway 40 near the intersection with SR-32 has both directions closed. This is a couple miles North of Heber City. Crews estimate about 1 hour for the eastbound lanes. The westbound lanes will either be closed or restricted for 2 to 3 hours. pic.twitter.com/Mizs1yoAe5
