Park City Police Department video educates kids on e-bike safety
PARK CITY, Utah — The ever-rising popularity of e-bikes among school-aged kids and the public has prompted the Park City Police Department to release a video detailing rules to follow. Due to the high number of shared-use trails, common trail courtesies and traffic law education is top of mind, especially for those not able to get behind the wheel yet.
The video aims to remind and inform the public that e-bikes are required to follow laws applicable to motor vehicles while on roads, including yielding to pedestrians.
Also included is the simple recommendation to use common sense when riding, whether that be slowing down when paths are congested or simply being courteous to others around you. The goal is to avoid accidents while still allowing for fun.
