BENTONVILLE, Arkansas — On Saturday, Keegan Swenson placed second in the Big Sugar Gravel 100 bike race. The Park City athlete representing the U.S. in the Tokyo Summer Olympics on USA Cycling currently resides in Heber.
For the 100-mile race held primarily on a gravel course, Swenson averaged a pace of 20.95 miles per hour and finished with a time of 4:58;24, about 30 seconds behind the winner Russel Finsterwald of Colorado Springs, CO.
The race had an elevation gain of 7,000 feet.
