Mayor shares enthusiasm with PC Miners for tonight’s home playoff game against Timpanogos
PARK CITY, Utah — At 6:00 p.m., under the Friday night lights, the Park City High School Miners football team plays Timpanogos High in the first round of the Utah State Playoffs, at home, at Dozier Field.
Park City Mayor, Nann Worel, told TownLift, “I want to thank the Park City Miners football team, their coaches, and the student body for treating us to an entertaining and successful regular season. Congratulations and best of luck as you begin your playoff journey. Now let’s start by being good hosts to Timpanogos this week by sending them off with a smile and an ‘L.’ Go Miners!”
Timpanogos Timberwolves are 7 – 3 overall, and the Miners are 7 – 2. In the league, the Timberwolves are 4 – 3, and the Miners are 4 – 2.
Team leaders include Miner Brayden Beyer who has averaged 7 points and 11 tackles per game. Chase Beyer has 159.3 passing yards and 176.3 total yards per game. This season Park City’s Jack Ronan has 1.3 sacks per game, and Mason Grover’s racked up 75 rushing yards.
Names tonight’s crowds may hear a lot on the opposing team are #7 Chase Riggs and #2 Luke Livingston.
Tonight’s winner goes on to play Lehi High School in the second round of the Playoffs.
The semis and finals are scheduled to be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium at the U of U in SLC.
