Local Business Spotlight: Cake Boutique

PARK CITY, Utah — Since its inception in 2008, Cake Boutique has distinguished itself as a favorite destination for savvy shoppers. Owner and founder Katie Hammond moved from San Diego to Park City when she was 10 years old. A reflection of Hammond’s diverse regional upbringing, Cake blends mountain town living and west coast styling into the finest fabrics and quality brands, plus a vast selection of lavish self-pampering products.

Hammond’s long-time retail experience prompted her to launch Cake to satisfy a need in Park City for gorgeous and well-made clothing that wasn’t too trendy.

“I have always worked in retail clothing stores but found that, more and more, I was shopping out of state or online for clothing that I liked,” she explains. “Realizing that there was a pretty big market void, I opened Cake and filled it with all the brands and offerings I was sourcing online or outside of Utah.”

Hammond strives to pair Cake’s expertly selected jeans, soft tees, sweatshirts, shoes, toiletry essentials, and indulgences in an approachable setting.

“We provide luxury items in a laid-back atmosphere. Hopefully, we are able to provide a shopping experience that is easy and warm,” she explains.

Cake is a thriving retail hub because of Hammond’s careful combination of extravagance and amiability. “We just celebrated our 14th anniversary this past summer, which is crazy!” she exclaims.

Pointing towards the shifting weather and approaching holidays, Hammond adds, “We are so excited for the upcoming winter and ski season.”
