Hut adventure with Anna Frost to disconnect and reconnect
CARDRONA, New Zealand — Trail runner, outdoor enthusiast, and SCOTT Sports athlete Anna Frost took her daughter, Skylar, to the Meg Hut in her home country of New Zealand. The trail is 18km (for non-metric folk, that’s a little over 11 miles)
“For me, it was about what is important. And what is important is being in the present, being connected, connected to nature, and connected to each other.”
Mom and Skylar packed their essentials for their journey to the old miner’s hut, where Frost has her own childhood memories of visiting. She remarks on her childhood camping, fishing, and hiking with family and learning how nature is an energy source for her.

Once at the hut, they gathered firewood and roasted marshmallows. Frost and her daughter enjoyed just sitting and being together at the end of their journey to the hut.
“I would definitely recommend anyone, really, to go to the mountains with your kid or with the young people in your world. It’s a really, really fun way to connect with them, connect with nature. And it doesn’t have to be so hard. You can do something just in your backyard or even or find something local to you.”
