Update 2:45pm September 9 US National Weather Service posted an update on Facebook predicting more smoke for the weekend over Summit and Wasatch Counties.
PARK CITY, Utah — The U.S. National Weather Service Salt Lake City Office is forecasting that smoke will pass through northern Utah starting on Thursday. The smoke is coming from wildfires north of Utah. The primary areas to be affected are northern Utah and southwest Wyoming.
Wildfire smoke is a significant health threat for those with heart and lung conditions. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends limiting exposure to any smoke by staying indoors, keeping the air as clean as possible in your home, and following local authorities’ advice as well as your doctor’s.

Like many transplants to Utah, Kevin started his journey to Park City as a ski instructor in 2014 and fell in love with the mountains enough to stay. A skier since the age of 2 and a half, he still gets excited about carving turns down the slopes and hopping into the powder on snow days. Kevin's passion for storytelling and photography led him to a second bachelor's degree focused on communications and fine art photography from the University of Utah. Paired with his first undergrad in ecology from Oklahoma State University, Kevin particularly enjoys writing environmental and nature stories. In his spare time, you can usually find him in his jeep looking for wildlife and landscapes to photograph.
