Big Gear Show hosted at Deer Valley for second year
PARK CITY, Utah — On Tuesday, the Big Gear trade show kicked off with a bang, hosting over 200 outdoor gear brands from cycling, camping, climbing, and paddlesports-centered markets. Located at Deer Valley Resort, the show takes place entirely outdoors. The event was also pared down from three days to two days in a more condensed format, for more efficiency, per the request of last year’s attendees.
Utah-based vendors in attendance this year include Black Diamond Equipment, Camp Chef, Magnum Bikes, Goal Zero, Klymit, Liberty Mountain, Petzel, among others. Other brands with strong ties to the region, such as Scott Sports, POC, and HydraPak, also had tents.
The Big Gear Show is a fully-integrated gear event. Gear retailers give attendees hands-on time with the various outdoor brands. HydraPak’s booth showcased its water bottles, hydration reservoirs, water filters, and other products for store reps to get their hands on and really get a feel for what they are buying. From there, a brand representative walks you through the technology behind each product and how it might better help someone in real-world use.
Several Park City-based retailers sent staff to the event, such as Backcountry, Jans, and Cole Sport, and others, but this national event, brings people from all over to Park City’s playground. One of the best perks of an outdoor venue, located in an outdoor lover’s mecca? The endless access to trails and water for demoing the gear.
The Big Gear Show ends on Wednesday, August 3. Visit the website to learn more.
