UPDATED: Wasatch County Sheriff searching for missing man near Daniels Summit Lodge

UPDATE 7/31/22 at 4:30 p.m.: Sheriff’s body was located approximately 1.5 miles from his vehicle. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

Condolences go out to the family and friends of Colby Sheriff. Search volunteers included the Bardsley Foundation, DPS Aero Bureau, National Guard Lakota Helicopter Team,  and the Davis, Summit, Utah and Wasatch Counties Search and Rescue teams.

WASATCH COUNTY — Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in the search for a missing person. Colby Sheriff, 34, has been missing since July 28. Sheriff was last seen near Daniels Summit Lodge in Wasatch County.

Sheriff is described as a male, caucasian, 6’0”, 180 lbs, with a beard, brown hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan and black hat, gray t-shirt, dark shorts, with white or gray shoes.

Wasatch County Sheriff is asking for the following:

1. If anyone has seen Colby on foot in the vicinity of Daniels Summit Lodge or Strawberry Ridge radio tower, please call 435-654-WCSO.
2. If you have game cameras in the area, please look for Colby on them ASAP. If you may have video recording of Colby, please call 435-654-WCSO.
3. If you find Colby’s water bottle (photo included) in the area, please call 435-654-WCSO.
