Multi-year sewer pipeline project underway in Heber City
HEBER CITY, Utah — Heber City started rebuilding sewer and water lines in June, beginning at 100 East Street. Heber will have all new sewer and water pipelines at the end of this multi-year project, expected to complete in October 2024. The city has recently seen leaks and breaks in some of the older pipelines still in service, some of which are over 70 years old.
The project involves rebuilding outdated pipes and installing pressurized irrigation, which will assist in regulating and balancing the water pressure in the pipes.
The project is currently in the excavation phase, following with the replacement of all the sewer and water infrastructure throughout 100 East Street. Traffic will be restricted in some portions of 100 East Street while excavation work is being performed. Between 500 North and 100 North, 100 East is now limited to through traffic.
The project is being overseen by Heber City’s Engineering Department, which anticipates finishing 100 East Street and a few other roadways by the end of the year. The completion of 100 East will be followed by 200 & 300 North Street excavation. Following completion, all streets with replaced sewer and water lines will be repaved.
By late 2023, everything south of Center street should be finished.
