Drift smoke advisory issued, No active fires in Summit County at this time
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — High winds are pushing heavy drift smoke from several fires in Milliard, Cache, and Tooele counties into Summit County prompting a drift smoke advisory to be issued. There are no active fires in Summit County as of 7:45 pm on 7/9/222. Only report a fire to dispatch if you see a defined smoke column or flames.

The Jacob City Fire in Tooele County is pushing smoke into the Salt Lake Valley. Erratic winds have driven the fire & is estimated at 2100 acres. Evacuations are taking place for campers in the Middle Canyon area. This wildfire is burning 4 miles from the Salt Lake County line.
#HalfwayHillFire is estimated at 6640 acres. Erratic wind gusts have grounded the fixed-wing air resources. Below is a video of a Type 1 helicopter dipping from “pumpkins” to suppress the flames.
