2022 Garlic Mustard Games continues at Toll Canyon

PARK CITY — On Saturday, July 30, Basin Recreation and Ecology Bridge will hold a volunteer event at Toll Canyon to pull garlic mustard from 8 to 10 a.m; as a part of the 2022 Garlic Mustard Games.

The summer-long competition started with its first event on June 4.

The competitors are broken up into teams of one or more people The team who pulls the most garlic mustard at the end of the competition wins a food truck party. There is also an opportunity to draw and win prizes at each event.

Garlic mustard is a noxious weed on the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food’s state-wide list of noxious weeds. The weed can outcompete native vegetation, harm pollinators, and reduce the overall forest resiliency.
