Park City Education Foundation awards $460,000 in classroom grants

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Education Foundation’s (PCEF) Board of Trustees recently increased the amount of funding available for classroom grants to $460,000 for the 2022/2023 school year. Previously, $350,000 was awarded.

Classroom grants is PCEF’s longest-running program (formerly teacher grants), launched in 1986.

“This year, there was a 161% increase in Classroom Grant applications,” said Kara Cody, Director of Programs for PCEF. “That’s the biggest jump we’ve ever seen. There were so many great ideas coming in and the need was so great that the Board knew it had to approve more funding. Thanks to that, PCEF was able to fund more grants than ever before. It’s just an astounding increase and will positively impact so many Park City students.”

Grants are awarded in a participatory process, involving a committee of 12 people, including five educators and three students.
