Intermountain’s Park City and Heber Valley Hospitals earn national recognition for quality care

PARK CITY, Utah. — After a review from Becker’s Hospital, a national health industry publication, Intermountain Park City Hospital and Intermountain Heber Valley Hospital were both individually recognized for their performance and high quality patient care.

Intermountain Park City Hospital was named to the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s annual list of the top 100 rural and community hospitals in the United States.

This program honors outstanding performances among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance Index. The index measures data from eight areas including: quality, outcomes, patient perspective, inpatient market share, outpatient market share, cost, charge, and financial efficiency.

“To be recognized as a top rural and community hospital in the country is an honor and shows bringing quality care to any community is possible when we focus on all aspects of care,” said Lori Weston, administrator for Intermountain Park City Hospital.

Heber Valley Hospital was then recognized separately as the only Utah hospital with a five-star rating for patient experience.

The ranking is based on a program administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which measures aspects of the hospital experience that are critical to patient satisfaction. This includes: communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, quietness of the hospital environment, pain management, and overall rating of the hospital among others.

“Our caregivers do an excellent job of providing high quality, safe care with compassion and respect for individuals and their loved ones,” said Si Hutt, administrator of Intermountain Heber Valley Hospital.
