Thief escapes with $24K of surveying equipment

PARK CITY, Utah — On Tuesday, May 3, Summit County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a job site near Painted Valley Pass where a thief stole $24,000 of surveying equipment.

After receiving a phone call from a complainant, the victim stated that she left her job site for approximately 25 minutes while the surveying equipment was conducting a survey. When the victim returned, the equipment had been stolen.

The value of the total station equipment taken is roughly $24,000. The victim stated that this was an open job site and there are no surveillance cameras in the area. The total station equipment was listed stolen on NCIC.
