172 pounds of marijuana discovered during traffic stop near Kimball Junction

PARK CITY, Utah. — On Tuesday, during a traffic stop on I-80 near Kimball Junction, Summit County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two females after the officers discovered 172 pounds of marijuana inside their vehicle.

After stopping a vehicle for traveling 90 miles per hour on I-80, deputies noticed a raw odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was then conducted after the driver admitted to having user amounts inside the car which revealed over 172 pounds of marijuana and an open container.

The driver, a 24-year-old South Bend, IN woman, and passenger, a 23-year-old Atlanta, GA woman, were booked into the Summit County Jail and the vehicle was impounded.
