I-80 reopens after hazmat spill

All lanes are now open on WB I-80 at MP 155 in Wanship. A right lane remains closed on WB I-80 at MP 150 near the Tollgate Jct.

Tollgate residents can be escorted home if they approach from the Park City side of Silver Creek on eastbound I-80.

The shelter inside guidance for Tollgate residents has been lifted. Roads in and out of Tollgate remain closed. Summit County Emergency Management is coordinating shelters for Tollgate residents if closures last later into the night.

Utah Highway Patrol: Emergency crews estimate that I-80 eastbound lanes could open within about an hour. The westbound lanes could take approximately three more hours before they begin to open.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — I-80 in Silver Creek Canyon is closed in both directions between Silver Summit and Wanship near the Tollgate Exit (MP 150) due to a semi rollover and hazmat spill, according to Summit County.
Tollgate residents are asked to shelter in place and stay indoors until further notice. Avoid the Rail Trail.
There’s also a vehicle rollover on I-80 eastbound between Kimball Junction and Silver Creek Junction.
