Summit County deputy and dispatchers recognized for life-saving efforts during cardiac arrest incident

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Park City Fire District (PCFD) recently recognized deputy Vincent Nguyen, and dispatchers Chelsea Ridgeway and Terri Peterson with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for their life-saving measures during a 911 call in January for a 51-year-old male that was experiencing cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Kimball Junction.

“With the help of our highly trained dispatchers providing CPR instructions and dispatching deputies and medical personnel, their actions saved a life,” the sheriff’s office said.

“Deputy Nguyen was first to arrive and took over CPR. With the help of citizens, Deputy Nguyen gave instructions to help deploy his AED, all while giving CPR. In the end, two shocks were delivered from the AED and the male survived the cardiac event.”

“A life was saved that day all due to everyone’s combined efforts,” the PCFD said.
