Justin Sibley assumes role as new POWDR CEO

PARK CITY, Utah — In November of 2021, adventure lifestyle company POWDR, which manages local ski resorts such as Snowbird and Woodward, announced that former co-president and chief financial officer Justin Sibley had been named the company’s CEO. Now, in early 2022, Sibley has assumed the new leadership role and all of its responsibilities.

“Justin has been instrumental in accelerating our long-term vision. He has integrated our ethos of cool experiences in awesome places into the objective side of the business in an authentic way through digital transformation and innovation and building customer centricity into our operations,” POWDR founder and chairman, John Cumming said,  “Justin has an amazing array of positive leadership qualities and POWDR is in great hands going forward.”

Before joining POWDR in 2014, Sibley was with, serving as Director of Financial Planning & Analytics and then as Vice President, Finance. Prior to his time at Backcountry, he also held positions such as Manager, Corporate Development at eBay and various other finance and accounting positions at eBay, Calpine Corp. and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Sibley will earn his MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University this Spring and earned his BS in Accounting from University of Oregon.

Upon assuming his new role, Sibley will lead POWDR into the future, including exploring adventure lifestyle spaces beyond ski resort operations.
