PARK CITY, Utah — In response to heavy public input about Park City Transit’s change to the orange route to more efficiently serve Silver Lake Village, the department is proposing a brand new bus route for the winter.
The switch negatively impacted residents on Royal Street, where nine stops were discontinued.
Park City Transit wants to run a new bronze route that would run from the Old Town Transit Center to Snow Park Lodge and up Royal Street to Silver Lake Village.

“The outbound trip will run from Silver Lake Village, down Royal Street to Snow Park Lodge and back to the Old Town Transit Center every 45 minutes from 6:35 am-9:50 pm, 7 days a week,” says a staff report. It states that the bronze can add capacity to Silver Lake in peak times.
The report says the department has added the expense to the mid-year budget adjustment requests, as the current transit operations budget cannot absorb the increase.
To operate from December 26 to April 16, it will cost about $1,000 per day for a total of $112,000.
Park City Council will discuss the recommendation at their meeting on Thursday. Attend virtually
