The 14th annual Utah Snow and Avalanche Workshop is next week
SALT LAKE CITY — The 14th annual Utah Snow and Avalanche Workshop (USAW) general session, hosted by the Utah Avalanche Center, is set to start on Tuesday, November 9.
You’ll learn about avalanches from forecasters, patrollers, snow scientists, highway avalanche crews, search & rescue personnel, mountain guides, ski industry manufacturers, backcountry skiers & snowboarders, snowmobilers, avalanche researchers, and more. The format is 15-minute presentations followed by Q&A.
“Regional avalanche workshops are the most time and cost-effective way to build and refresh advanced avalanche skills available. This is your chance to learn from avalanche experts and brush up your skills before the start of the season,” UAC said in a post.
The general session runs from 6 pm – 9 pm, November 9 – 11.
Daily registration is $10, however, a full three-day package costs $25.
