POLAND — Team USA’s Erin Jackson took home her first-ever world cup medal in the long-track 500-meter speed skating with a time of (37.613) capturing first place.
She set a new Track Record and defeated reigning Olympic Champion Nao Kodaira from Japan who took silver; Jackson becomes the first Black female to win a world cup race in speed skating. The 29-year old Jackson, a 2018 Olympian from Florida, spends much dedicated time in Utah at the US Speedskating headquarters at the Utah Olympic Oval, a sister facility to the Utah Olympic Park under the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation.
