Alta pushes back opening day to Nov. 24

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah — Alta Ski Area announced that opening day will now be Wednesday, November 24.

Alta was initially hoping to open on Saturday, November 20. They join Park City Mountain and Solitude in postponing their initial openings.

The ski area announced that masks will no longer be required in lift lines or outdoors. However, masks will be required in all indoor settings.

The new parking system does not go into effect until December 18. Starting on Dec. 18, parking reservations will be required on weekends and holidays.

There will be no UTA Ski Bus until December 12.
