Body found in Wyoming matches description of Gabby Petito

TETON COUNTY, Wyo. — In a press conference on Sunday afternoon at Grand Teton National Park, Charles Jones with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Denver office said a body found in the Spread Creek dispersed camping area matched the description of Gabby Petito.

While the forensic identification has not been 100 percent confirmed, Jones said Petito’s family had been notified of the discovery.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time.

It is an active and ongoing investigation.

The facility around Spread Creek will remain closed to the public until further notice.
