Summit County’s COVID transmission level now at moderate
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Department of Health upgraded Summit County’s COVID-19 transmission index level to moderate from low.
The county had been at the low level since May 27. The 14-day case count in Summit is at 46 as of July 10. In the last 7 days, the positivity rate is at 4.52%. The 14-day case rate per one hundred thousand people is at 109.15.
Statewide ICU utilization (7-day average) is at 77%. 17.3% of those ICU incidents are COVID-related.
Across the entire state of Utah, cases have risen by 35% in the last 14 days. Hospitalizations have increased in that same time frame by 26%. However, COVID-19 deaths have decreased over 50% in the last two weeks.
38.2% of people in Utah have been fully vaccinated. 49.6% have received at least one dose.
In Summit County, 58% of all residents have been fully vaccinated. Cases have decreased in the county in the past 14 days by 13%.
