Power outage doesn’t stop vaccination efforts
PARK CITY, Utah. — Volunteer medical staff and residents with vaccine appointments carried on with the tasks at hand Friday afternoon when a regional power outage impacted the Utah Film Studios, which is a temporary vaccination site.
Calling the outage, which struck at about 1:30 p.m., a hiccup, volunteers and health department staff kept working apace to maintain their appointment schedule.
“We’re still open,” said Derek Moss, nursing director for the Summit County Health Department. “Keep coming.”
About 300 county residents have been getting vaccinated daily at the site.
According to Rocky Mountain Power’s website, a planned outage was reported in the area around the same time. Crews are on site and the expected restoration time is 4 p.m.
