Powdr Corp sells Outside TV
PARK CITY, Utah. – Local company Powdr sold its adventure media brand Outside TV to Boulder-based company Pocket Outdoor Media (POM). Simultaneous to the acquisition, which was announced this week, POM was rebranded to Outside.
Headquartered in Park City, Powdr’s pantheon of businesses includes Snowbird Ski Resort and Powderbird Helicopter Skiing in Utah, Sun Country Tours in Oregon, and Woodward, which has six adventure parks throughout the United States and Mexico. Power also owned Park City Mountain Resort before Vail acquired it.
Megan Baroska, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Communications for Powdr, said the Outside TV acquisition “is a good opportunity” for stakeholders and that “It’s exciting that POM is now Outside.”
Outside markets itself as the “center of gravity” of consumers who enjoy active lives. Under the Outside umbrella of businesses are Gaia GPS, athleteReg, and Peleton Magazine, brands familiar to hikers, bikers, and nature-likers.
