PARK CITY, Utah – The (virtual) Sundance Film Festival is underway. Single film tickets are still available. Most films have the quintessential Sundance experience with an introduction to the filmmaker and Q&A after the film. Sundance has put tremendous effort into building a worthwhile digital experience that continues the magic of past years.
The world premiere for Robin Wright’s directorial debut in LAND is Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 4 pm MST (with a second screening on February 2nd at 8 am MST). Wright also stars in the movie, which is included in this year’s Premieres section of the festival. LAND will be released nationally in some theaters via Focus Features on February 12th.
LAND is about a woman who encounters a life-changing tragedy and retreats to the Rocky Mountains to try a new lifestyle. According to the Sundance Institute Summary, Robin Wright “stands out in her performance as Edee, a woman lost in grief, while Demián Bichir’s subdued and charming presence depicts an unexpected and reflective companion who questions Edee’s abrupt choices. LAND is a quiet yet masterful journey into the complex desire for solitude as a woman searches for meaning in the vast and harsh American wilderness.”
