The Park City Weather Predictor
PARK CITY, Utah. — For years, the Powder Bouy has been an amazing predictor of snowstorms in Utah. Bouy 51101 is located northwest of Hawaii, off the coast of Kauai. When this buoy gets some disruption, wait two weeks and typically a snowstorm hits the Wasatch mountains or surrounding mountain ranges. Essentially, when large ocean swells hit this NOAA weather buoy in the South Pacific, two weeks later snow appears on the ground in Park City.
The Powder Bouy predicted today’s storm and it has another snowstorm predicted for Friday, November 13th. And it’s calling for another storm on Friday, November 20th.
