The Parley’s Canyon Wildlife Overpass: Second Year in Review

PARK CITY, Utah. — In 2018, a wildlife overpass was built to help our animal neighbors cross I-80 from one side of Parley’s Canyon to the other. Some of the creatures who use the overpass are moose, bobcats, bear, deer, coyotes, porcupines, cougars and raccoons.

This year, the Utah Department of Transportation and Utah State University kept an eye on the overpass for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. A highlight reel was released this week showcasing a few of the animals who made a star appearance on the overpass this year. Please keep in mind, the overpass is not for human use.

Here is a video of the construction of the first and only Utah wildlife overpass. Reminder that this is for wildlife animals only; no humans are supposed to be utilizing the bridge.
