Driver arrested on DUI after striking two parked cars in Ranch Place, fleeing on foot

SNYDERVILLE, Utah — A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing a maroon Ford Escape into two parked cars on Cutter Lane in the Ranch Place subdivision and fleeing the scene on foot, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded just after 7 p.m. on June 13 after dispatch received a call reporting the crash, said Sgt. Skyler Talbot.

Additional residents called in as deputies worked to set up a containment perimeter in the area. One caller reported seeing someone near homes on Sandhill Court, Talbot said.

The Utah Highway Patrol assisted deputies in locating the driver, who was found and detained, according to Talbot. The man showed signs of possible alcohol impairment, performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, Talbot said.

He was booked into the Summit County Jail on charges that include DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.
