PARK CITY, Utah — Multiple local agencies will conduct a coordinated active shooter training exercise at Trailside Elementary School on Tuesday, April 14, aimed at strengthening emergency response and interagency coordination.
The training, scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., will bring together the Park City Police Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Park City Fire District, and Park City School District.
According to a PCPD release, the exercise will simulate real-world conditions to improve communication, response times, and life-saving decision-making during high-risk incidents.
Officials say ongoing joint trainings are critical to ensuring first responders can act quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
“This multi-agency exercise reinforces our shared commitment to preparedness, collaboration, and the safety of our community and students,” the department said.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles at the school during the exercise. Officials emphasize that the activity is planned training and ask the public not to be alarmed.
