PARK CITY, Utah — Park City School District has selected Alane J. Gaspari as the new principal of Trailside Elementary School, with the appointment set to take effect July 1, following a spring leadership change at the school. Tricia Wilbourne served as Trailside Elementary’s principal this school year before Tracy Fike stepped in as interim principal this spring.
In a previous message to families, the district said Fike would serve as interim principal for the remainder of the school year. When TownLift asked what prompted the immediate shift, district spokesperson Colton Elliott said the district does not comment on personnel matters and that its focus remains on “ensuring a smooth transition and continued support for students, staff, and families.”
Gaspari has worked in Park City School District since 2007. According to the district, her experience includes teaching first and third grades, working as an interventionist and serving as student services dean at McPolin Elementary School and Jeremy Ranch Elementary School. Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman said Gaspari’s “institutional knowledge,” along with her background in literacy and student services, made her “the ideal leader to build upon Trailside’s success.”
The Park City Board of Education approved Gaspari’s selection during its April 7 meeting. Gaspari is completing the school year as assistant principal at Ecker Hill Middle School.
The district said Trailside families will have opportunities to meet Gaspari before the end of the school year, with details to be shared in the coming weeks.
