HUNTSVILLE, Utah — Snowbasin Resort will close its doors this Sunday, March 22, wrapping up a season that resort officials are calling one of the most challenging in memory.
The closure comes nearly a month earlier than the resort’s typical mid-April end date according to KUTV, driven by Utah’s historically warm and dry 2025-26 winter season.
“It’s crazy to think that just three years ago we had the most snow we’ve ever had, and three years later we’ve had maybe one of the more challenging seasons in history,” said Davy Ratchford, Snowbasin’s general manager.
Snowbasin is the fourth Utah resort to close in March. Cherry Peak and Eagle Point have already shuttered for the season, and Nordic Valley plans to wrap up on March 21, according to Ski Utah.
Despite the early end, the resort plans to close out the season with live music and food.
“I look forward to everyone coming back in the 2026-27 winter season, and hopefully mother nature is going to be a little bit kinder,” Ratchford said in the announcement share in instagram.
