Park City boy hospitalized after being struck by truck in e-motorcycle incident

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A 13-year-old Park City boy was struck by a box truck Friday night on Kilby Road after a collision between two e-motorcycles, according to Sgt. Talbot from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Two boys were riding e-motorcycles together when their handlebars clipped, causing both riders to crash. A passerby stopped to help move the injured boy out of the road. While the bystander was assisting, the second boy returned to the roadway to retrieve one of the e-motorcycles and was struck by a passing box truck.

The injured boy’s family has reported he is expected to survive. The second rider did not appear to require transport for injuries, according to initial reports.

Talbot noted that given the circumstances, the outcome could have been far worse

Both boys are local to the Park City area.
