Three felony arrests made during two-day Heber City crime enforcement operation

HEBER CITY, Utah — The Wasatch Back Major Crimes Task Force completed a two-day operation in Heber City focused on traffic violations, drug offenses, and alcohol-related crimes. The operation resulted in three felony arrests.

The operation was focused on identifying and disrupting criminal activity, according to a statement from the Heber City Police Department (HCPD). From February 6-7, officers conducted numerous traffic stops and deployed K-9 units multiple times.

HCPD outlined the three felony arrests in their statement.

  • A driver fled from officers after a traffic stop. The suspect later admitted to using cocaine and alcohol.
  • Following a K-9 alert on another traffic stop, officers located methamphetamine and brass knuckles in the vehicle. The passenger was also identified as a convicted felon.
  • Another K-9 alert led to the seizure of fentanyl, Xanax pills, marijuana, and two firearms. All drugs and weapons were taken into evidence, and the individuals involved were booked into jail on felony charges.

“These enforcement efforts are part of our continued commitment to keeping illegal drugs and weapons out of our community and ensuring the safety of everyone who lives, works, and visits Heber City,” said HCPD.

The Wasatch Back Major Crimes Task Force includes multiple partnering agencies throughout the Wasatch Back. The group is directly supervised by a Wasatch County deputy sergeant.
