PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City High School girls swim team cruised to a third straight Region 10 title Saturday at the Wasatch Aquatics Center in Heber City, while the Miners boys finished second in a tight race that set up another postseason showdown at the 4A state meet later this month.

Park City’s girls scored 553 points to runner-up Highland’s 319 — a 234-point margin — as the Miners won all three relays and repeatedly crowded the top of the results sheet.

Freshman Megan Dillon led the way with wins in the 50-yard freestyle (24.97 seconds) and 100 butterfly (1:00.82). Sophomore Ella Limback won the 200 freestyle (1:58.86) and 500 freestyle (5:24.10), while senior Anna Klug took first in the 100 freestyle (55.17) and sophomore Marlo Erickson won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.30).

The boys’ team finished with 346 points, 50 behind champion Murray (396). Park City won two of the three relays, including the 200 medley relay (1:41.89) and 200 freestyle relay (1:30.05), and picked up individual wins from sophomore Logan Siegrist in the 50 freestyle (21.70) and 100 freestyle (46.92). Junior Harrison Bae won the 500 freestyle in 4:53.84.

Both Park City teams enter the postseason as the defending 4A state champions. Last season, the Miners boys edged Murray by six points at state after finishing behind the Spartans at region.
The 4A state championships are scheduled for Feb. 13-14 at Brigham Young University’s pool in Provo, with a livestream available through KSLsports.com.

The Park City program practices weekday afternoons at the Park City Aquatic Center at Ecker Hill Middle School, and many swimmers also compete with local club and water polo programs.
