PARK CITY — A local nonprofit is hosting two free public events this month to improve communication and foster community connection across Summit and Wasatch counties.
Mountain Mediation will hold a Let’s Talk Essentials training on Monday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Park City Library Community Room, followed by a Let’s Talk Community Conversation on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 8:15 p.m. at Park City Community Church.
The Feb. 23 workshop is a practical training session designed to give participants tools for conflict resolution and communication. Topics include active listening, managing emotions during difficult conversations, and framing messages to promote mutual understanding.
The Feb. 25 event centers on the theme of “Othering: Us vs. Them,” exploring how groups form in-group and out-group identities and how that dynamic affects community relationships. The evening is designed as a space for sharing experiences and hearing diverse perspectives rather than arriving at immediate solutions. Dinner will be provided at no cost.
Mountain Mediation is a Park City-based nonprofit that provides mediation, landlord-tenant education, communication training, and community dialogue programs. The organization also operates a landlord-tenant eviction diversion program.
Registration is requested for both events. More information and RSVPs are available at MountainMediationCenter.org/events.
