Head Football Coach Josh Montzingo to resign from Park City High School

PARK CITY, UT – Park City High School (PCHS) announced Friday that Head Football Coach Josh Montzingo has resigned from his position, effective immediately.

“There is no way to put into words how grateful I am for the Park City Community and all of their love and support,” said Montizingo. “Park City is truly a special place and it has been an honor to serve as the Head Football Coach over the last 10 years. I, and my family, will be forever grateful for all the amazing football families and community that has supported us for so long.”

Coach Montzingo’s tenure at Park City High School spanned ten seasons, during which the Miners successfully transitioned from the 3A classification to 4A, and ultimately to the 5A level.

Coach Montzingo’s achievements on the field established him as one of the most successful coaches in the program’s history, according to statistics from the Park City School District:

  • 82 Total Victories
  • 4 Region Championships
  • 3 Playoff Appearances at Rice-Eccles Stadium (3 State Semifinals/1 State Finals)

A district release highlighted Montzingo’s mentorship and focus on holistic development of his players.

“Coach has been a staple of the PCHS Community for the last ten years,” said PCHS Principal Caleb Fine. “I will forever be grateful for how he led our football program—character development first and wins followed, and there were a lot of great wins and a lot of great Friday night light memories! Thank you, coach.”

PCSD noted the search for a new head coach to lead the Miner football program into its next chapter will begin immediately.
