EDEN, Utah — Powder Mountain has been announced as a host site for Travis Rice’s Natural Selection Tour, one of the world’s premier freeride snowboarding competitions.
The event will take place in DMI, a more than 1,000-acre zone at Powder Mountain that is slated to become lift-accessed, offering a preview of terrain that will soon be available to the public. Competition dates are expected to fall over several days in early February, with the final schedule dependent on snow and weather conditions.

The Powder Mountain stop will feature Natural Selection Super Sessions, the opening stage of the 2026 Natural Selection Snow season. The session-based format emphasizes natural terrain, creativity and rider progression rather than traditional head-to-head heats.
Top performers from the Powder Mountain event will earn spots in the YETI Natural Selection Snow finals, scheduled for March 10–15 in Revelstoke, British Columbia.
The competition will air exclusively on Red Bull TV beginning Feb. 24.
Founded by professional snowboarder Travis Rice, the Natural Selection Tour brings together elite freeride athletes to compete in backcountry-style terrain designed to showcase technical skill and innovative riding.
