Park City Marketing Club to host talk on capturing attention in a three-second window

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Marketing Club will kick off its first gathering of 2026 on Monday, January 26, with a presentation focused on how brands and businesses can quickly capture audience attention in an increasingly crowded media landscape.

The event will feature Paul Hochman, president and co-founder of Humongous Media, who will speak about the challenge of telling compelling stories in what he describes as a three-second attention window. The discussion will explore how marketers can communicate complex products or services efficiently, and what audience viewing data suggests about how people engage with video content.

Drawing on years of experience working with clients such as Amazon, Comcast, Intel and other major companies, Hochman plans to share insights on audience behavior and practical strategies for short-form storytelling. The session will also touch on the role of artificial intelligence in marketing, highlighting AI tools designed to help organizations develop and refine messaging without requiring specialized technical training.

Hochman brings a background in both journalism and media strategy. He previously served as gear and technology editor for NBC’s Today show, covered five Olympic Games and the Tour de France for NBC News, and contributed to publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company. He is also an adjunct media and business instructor at the University of Utah and a Park City resident.

The event is free and open to members and guests, and registration is available through the Park City Marketing Club.
