PARK CITY, Utah — The Miners wrestling team at Park City High School is nearing the end of another busy season for these student-athletes.
At their home meet dual competition earlier in the month against Highland High, Park City won with a score of 38-37. The dual came down to the last match where Miner Trace Bonilla’s win led to a PCHS team victory.
The next weekend, PCHS participated in the Rockwood Rumble in Farmington, known as one of the most difficult in the Western U.S. with high caliber competition from teams both inside and outside of Utah. Bonilla was the only placer at the tournament, taking 8th place in the JV Heavyweight bracket.
PCHS’s final home dual, Senior Night, took place the next week versus Murray High School, which ended in a final dual score of 37-33 with Murray taking the win.
“We had a great turnout, with lots of families, students, teachers and administrators coming to cheer on the team and seniors,” Laura Richey, a parent of one of the athletes, told TownLift.
