Helicopter crash near Wolf Creek Campground leaves one critically injured

WASATCH COUNTY, UT – One person was critically injured when a helicopter crashed Sunday afternoon near Wolf Creek Campground in Wasatch County, according to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.
The Wasatch County 911 Center received a text-to-911 report at approximately 3:10 p.m. on January 18, 2026, of a helicopter crash approximately 100 yards off State Road 35 near mile marker 20.
Emergency responders located the helicopter with four occupants on board. One individual sustained a critical head injury and was transported by AirMed to a hospital for treatment. The remaining three occupants were evaluated at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, the sheriff’s office said.
The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Natural Resources, and AirMed for their assistance during the incident.
