PARK CITY, Utah — A Road Map to Happiness, a series exploring the essence of human happiness, made its debut during the 2026 Sundance Film Festival with a teaser screening at the World of Hyatt in Park City.
From the executive producers of the Emmy®-winning Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron, A Road Map to Happiness takes audiences on action-filled, globe-spanning journeys to uncover the universal keys to happiness — ultimately leading viewers to the happiest people on Earth. Guided by celebrated storytellers and cultural explorers, the series inspires audiences to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary through connection, curiosity, and purpose. An interactive platform was introduced to further engage participants.
The series stars Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Shailene Woodley (Ferrari), with additional participants to be announced, alongside co-host Darin Olien — New York Times bestselling author, host of the SuperLife with Darin Olien podcast, and longtime global explorer.
“I have traveled the world looking for solutions to so many of the issues we face today,” said Olien. “What I found is that the search for happiness — and discovering it in diverse cultures and communities — was the only solution needed.”
Momoa added, “People and the planet are at the heart of everything I do. Getting to go on this journey with Darin, a friend and warrior for the Earth, makes it even more special. We’re exploring what connects us, what sustains us, and why protecting it matters.”
Produced by Emmy®-winning filmmakers Darin Olien, Cary Floyd, Griffin Gmelich, Heather White Rezner, and acclaimed cinematographer Nick Higgins, the series blends breathtaking visuals with deeply human stories. “I know a lot of lives and hearts will be touched by this project,” said Woodley. “Simply by how much mine was — it was laughter that renewed my faith in humanity.”
The screening held at the World of Hyatt House was a partner event to the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. “As the cast and creators of A Road Map to Happiness traveled the globe, they experienced our properties as places of connection, restoration, and inspiration — and our spaces became part of the story itself,” said Laurie Blair, a senior vice president at Hyatt.
The first look at A Road Map to Happiness offered audiences a powerful invitation into a global journey of discovery — one that extends far beyond the festival and into a shared conversation about what it truly means to live well.
