PARK CITY, Utah — Canyons Village is ushering in winter with a full slate of holiday and arts festivities, highlighted by the return of the Gondola Art Stroll and the debut of GLOW, a new immersive light installation. The celebrations begin Friday, Dec. 19, as part of Silver Sky Nights, a seasonal event series presented by the Canyons Village Management Association.
Now in its third year, the Gondola Art Stroll has become a Park City tradition, transforming the village into a walkable outdoor gallery. Six newly reimagined, artist-designed gondolas will debut for the 2025–26 season, each hand-painted and featuring hidden elements.
This year’s lineup blends returning artists with two nationally acclaimed newcomers:
Gondola #1: Anna Leigh Moore — Returning Park City painter whose work captures Utah’s natural landscapes.
Gondola #2: Elizabeth Walsh — Returning contemporary Western artist known for vivid, mosaic-like impressionism.
Gondola #3: Ashley Brown & Merlin Erickson — Returning collaborative duo blending illustration and sculpture.
Gondola #4: Fred Conlon — New this year. A nationally recognized metal artist celebrated for whimsical found-object creations, including Park City Mountain’s iconic Gnome-Be-Gones and Snow Bugs.
Gondola #5: Brooke Smart & Jeremy Morgan — Returning sculptor/illustrator duo whose colorful, story-driven installations bring playful dimension to the stroll.
Gondola #6: Kent Youngstrom — New this year. A nationally acclaimed artist known for merging bold text and expressive color, featuring messages of resilience and identity.
The December 19 Silver Sky Night coincides with the launch of GLOW, a new winter art experience bringing large-scale illuminated sculptures to Pendry Plaza and throughout Canyons Village. Created by In Theory Art Studios, the installation includes interactive works such as Prismatic Portals, which features spiraling LED gateways that respond to movement, and Columbine Clusters, a tower of illuminated flowers inspired by Utah’s alpine flora.
Silver Sky Nights: Winter Event Series
Silver Sky Nights returns this winter with live music, seasonal treats, ice carving demonstrations, and fireworks throughout the season. Each event begins at 4 p.m., with fireworks launching at varying times. Event schedules are weather- and operations-dependent.
The Dec. 19 event serves as the official winter arts kickoff at Canyons Village, offering guests a first look at both the 2025–26 Gondola Art Stroll and the GLOW installation, along with festive entertainment to start the season.
