As Thanksgiving approaches, there’s something truly special about coming together as a community to give thanks — and to give back. The Park City Turkey Drive, now celebrating its 24th year, is a shining example of how our town’s generosity continues to make a real difference for families across the Wasatch Back. With food prices climbing and local demand rising by nearly 30% this year, every dollar counts more than ever. The Turkey Drive will take place November 20–21 at The Market at Park City, and donations of any amount are welcome with gratitude.

What began more than two decades ago with just 75 families has evolved into one of Utah’s largest food drives, serving thousands of people each year. Thanks to local sponsors, donors, and volunteers, last year’s drive surpassed its goal by providing 3,500 turkeys — enough to feed more than 14,000 people. This year, organizers have set an even bigger goal: 4,000 turkeys, ensuring at least 16,000 families can gather around a Thanksgiving meal.

Led by the Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation, the Turkey Drive partners with The Market at Park City, which provides groceries at cost, and the Christian Center of Park City and Heber, which distributes meals to families in need. 100% of donations go directly toward purchasing food, and every effort is powered entirely by volunteers from the real estate community.

Living in a place as magical and affluent as Park City, it’s easy to forget that there are still neighbors among us who struggle to put food on the table. I’m reminded each year that while our town shines with beauty, success, and abundance, there’s always someone quietly in need of support. With the current economic challenges facing many families across the country, the need here at home is greater than ever.

This season, as we reflect on all there is to be thankful for, let’s continue the tradition that makes Park City shine brightest — neighbors helping neighbors. Together, we can make sure every family has a reason to give thanks.
